The
Wildfire Dance Theatre is a social and economic development
project that strives to use the arts as a means of inspiration
to ignite positive moral and social change in schools and
communities around the world.
Captivate
– Young or old, you will laugh, have fun, and be thoroughly
entertained.
Educate – We cultivate a profound awareness
of world issues such as racism, drug abuse, and violence.
Motivate – We instill hope and inspire
action for positive change.
For Youth, By Youth – We prove that young
people can join and work together with others to make the
world a better place.
Unity in Diversity – We provide an inspiring
example of how a group of diverse people from all over the
world can come and work together in love and unity, inspiring
all people to help make a positive difference.
A variety of performance styles – We have
something in the show for everyone, from Hip-Hop and Swing,
to Folk and Aboriginal.
Mobile – We make it easy by arranging our
own travel plans. We come to you!
Not-for-profit status – Our low-cost and
high quality performances provides outstanding value.
Question & Answer Period – We can foster
greater understanding by engaging the audience in a meaningful
discussion following each performance. Discussions on any
issue or a broad range of issues can be arranged to meet
your needs.
Wildfire tells the story of our planet's present challenges!
We take audiences through a process of reflection. This
reflection leads to greater understanding and ultimately
positive change. Among the issues addressed are:
Racial
Unity
Extremes of wealth and poverty
Equality of women & men
Substance Abuse
Gang Violence
Domestic Abuse
Peer Pressure
The
Theatre performs for thousands of people annually. WDT has
performed in schools, universities, community events, festivals,
and fundraisers, touring countries like Greece, the Ukraine,
and the United States. The feedback we receive tells us
that our educational performances makes a difference in
people's lives.
